Moment Spesial di KBRI (Program Rutin Dept. Keputrian)
Miris mendengar kisah para TKW yang bernasib malang di negeri ini (Malaysia-red), kebanyakan dari kasus yang menimpa para TKW adalah penyiksaan oleh majikan, pelecehan seksual, dan tidak sedikit yang diperdagangkan (traficking). Salah satu kasus-nya adalah Sumiati (30) yang disiram air panas oleh majikannya yang justru berprofesi sebagai dokter dan kasus terakhir yang menjadi perhatian publik adalah kasus Ceriyati yang nekat melarikan diri dari rumah majikan yang berada di lantai 15 flat rumahnya. Para TKW yang berhasil melarikan diri dari majikan akan memilih KBRI sebagai tempat bernaung, sampai pihak KBRI memulangkan mereka ke daerah asalnya di Indonesia.
Sebenarnya banyak faktor yang menyebabkan para TKW menjadi bermasalah ketika bekerja di Malaysia, dan penyebab utama biasanya datang dari para TKW sendiri. Kebanyakan para TKW yang rentan mengalami penyiksaan dan pelecehan adalah TKW yang tidak memiliki ketrampilan, tidak memahami proses dan cara migrasi resmi, tidak memahami hak kerja n kondisi Malaysia, menggantungkan diri pada penyalur kerja untuk transportasi, dokumen perjalanan dan penempatan kerja dan banyak lagi. Ini kenyataan, karena ternyata setelah berkomunikasi dengan para TKW ternyata masih banyak yang buta huruf..

Seharusnya, ini dipahami oleh para suami, ayah, abang… yang istri, anak, adik perempuannya bekerja di luar negeri.
Sedih sekali ketika mengetahui ternyata data dari UNICEF menyebutkan angka kematian bayi yang paling besar di Indonesia adalah disebabkan karena ditinggal oleh orang tua (ibu-red) yang bekerja di luar negeri (ILO).
Menjadi salah satu program Departemen Keputrian PPI-UKM adalah pengajian TKW setiap minggu-nya di Aula KBRI. Kegiatan pengajian terbaru diadakan pada hari Minggu, 24 Juni 2007.
Tim Keputrian-PPI UKM bersama beberapa pengurus (Zahraini Yumni Yunan, Ridha Mahyuni, Kharisma S Srg, Juneidi, Bay Amri Hakim - red) kembali menghadirkan kegiatan untuk menghibur dan merasakan kebersamaam bersama para TKW. Adapun kegiatan yang berlangsung adalah ; Games, Taushiah, pembagian Satu Paket Handuk 20 bh, Perlengkapan Wanita @ 30 bh X 6 paket, Satu Paket Pakaian Melayu 50 set, Dua dus Pakaian Layak Pakai dan 30 pasang sandal Jepit.
